Luxury isn't about excess- it's about intention. It's choosing to light a candle on a Tuesday evening or bake a cake for a special friend. I recently made this birthday cake for my dear friend. She has such a pure soul and felt like an honor to celebrate her in this way. It was a French vanilla cake with raspberry confit and a cream cheese frosting. It was delicious if i must say so! I believe that cooking or baking for someone is one of the most generous acts of love. When you do this, you are offering your time, energy and creativity in a way that's deeply personal.

This isn't about perfection. It's about choosing to live gracefully as well as gracefully serving others. In the Snob Society. we believe beauty isn't about extravagance, it's about meaning. It's about presence. So, bake that cake. Simmer the stew. And light the good candle while you do it. Because at the end of the day, these little things are not little at all.
